Can I Connect?

About

Real-time connectivity checks, from your browser and from servers around the world.

What Is This?

Can I Connect? is a free, open-source tool that answers two questions:

  • "Can I connect?" Your browser pings endpoints directly and shows you the response time.
  • "Can everyone else connect?" Our servers probe the same endpoints from multiple regions so you can tell if a problem is just you or everyone.

Why?

When a service feels slow or unreachable, the first question is always: "Is it me or is it down?" Running ping in a terminal doesn't tell the full story - you need HTTPS-level checks, multiple vantage points, and community context.

How It Works

Browser checks: your browser sends HTTPS requests to each endpoint and measures the round-trip time.

Server probes: our infrastructure checks curated endpoints every 15 minutes from multiple geographic regions.

Community data: when users opt in, anonymized results are aggregated to show what everyone else is seeing.

For full technical details, see How It Works.

Privacy First

No accounts. No cookies. No tracking. No IP logging. Everything runs in your browser - we never see your connectivity data unless you explicitly opt in to community sharing.

Read the full Privacy & Transparency page or the formal Privacy Policy.

Open Source

The entire platform (frontend, API, probe infrastructure) is open source. You can inspect, verify, and contribute.
